The Holocaust is an important part of history that students need to be taught about. The Holocaust should be taught to eighth grade students to help them confront day to day issues, teach them lifelong skills, and learn about how the world really works.
Teaching the Holocaust is very important for helping students confront issues they are presented with every day. Children can face many issues and dilemmas even at a young age and we do our best to help children to solve them. Holocaust education can help children with bullies and moral dilemmas. Learning about the Holocaust can help students to challenge preconceptions about certain gender, races, or religions. It can also help develop empathy in students.
Children are the future, and everyone today wants the future to be as bright as possible. Having children learn about the Holocaust can keep the future bright, it will teach them many important skills about be a responsible and educated citizen. Children can learn how to see when bad things are happening and how to react in order to stop it from progressing any further. Power and the abuse of power is another important thing students need to examine. The Holocaust was caused because of power abuse. If children can learn how to not abuse power then we can limit the probability of something like the Holocaust happening again. Students will also learn the importance of making the right choice.
