The judicial system and the courts do important work in serving justice. But at times they deny justice to the innocent and allow the wrongdoers to enjoy justice at the cost of the innocent citizens. The investigative arms of government are qualified to do their work. However, they depend on links that lead to substantial evidence enough to take an alleged criminal to court and prove that they are guilty. However, the law is blind. People never choose what will happen where they are and when. As the crime has increased in some of the cities around the world, a person may just decide to shoot another on a busy street. And when people hear gunshots, they run away. Due to the confusion, people may brand one of those near the victim as the perpetrator. Once one individual claims to have seen the alleged perpetrator commit the crime, others will join in claiming they also witnessed the person commit the crime. As Stevenson (2014) covers some of the cases he has handled, it is evident that some of the people serving a death sentence are innocent. They are suffering because of legal brinkmanship. Such incidents will divert investigators attention from seeking the real perpetrators, and they will focus on gaining many witnesses to testify in their case against the alleged perpetrator. The wrong hands have handled many people. Justice has been denied to many people including the mentally ill, non-white, poor, and the disenfranchised. Government employees no longer value compassion. Compassion is a virtue that people should adopt in their life as they offer services. Due to lack of honesty among those offering judicial services, the harsh rule will be used discriminatively, and only the poor, minority and disenfranchised people will suffer. The challenges of knowing who the real perpetrator of a crime is can only be addressed if all the employees can be honest and adopt the right virtues that need to be incorporated in daily life. Also, criminals can be changed and even more, they can be given work to do for them to be productive despite their past. Despite the discrimination that exists in the judicial system, it is inhumane to kill criminals. Hence, the government should have no power to apply capital
