The problem with this idea is the word is not any less oppressive compared to someone who is not black saying it. Thinking back to the Kendrick Lamar concert, the rapper was only offended by the use of the 'N' word, because the fan was white. If the woman that was called on stage with him was black he would not have taken so much offense to the word. Perhaps if he did not want everyone to say the 'N' word, he should not have included it in his song, as he should know he has a broad audience. Also, why would the woman think she could not sing the exact lyrics of Lamar's song with everyone else—including the rapper himself? Situations like these can be easily avoided with the prohibition of the 'N' word all together. If it is wrong for one group of people to do or say something, no one should be allowed to do or say it.
