Informative Speech Final Preparation Outline
Topic : Should the U.S continue to supply large amounts of foreign aid to other countries when our economy is suffering ?
General Purpose : To Inform
Specific Purpose : To inform my audience of the pros and cons of the amounts and need for foreign aid
Central Idea : While many people believe that the U.S. should not provide foreign aid during this economic downturn many others believe it is of vital importance.
I. Introduction
A. Attention Getter : Did you realize that the U. S. supplies over $50 billion in aid to foreign countries even as America continues to struggle with our own economy ?
B. Reveal the Topic : Should the U.S. continue to supply large amounts of aid to foreign countries when our economy is suffering ?
C. Audience Motivation : This should be important to you and I because these are our tax dollars going overseas to other countries when we all have friends, relatives, and neighbors, losing their jobs, homes, and dreams, at the same time.
D. Qualifications / Credibility : I’ve given many speeches over the years on behalf of organizations, such as; The United States Chamber of Commerce, while acting as a Marketing Representative, Bankers Life and Casualty Insurance Company, while acting as a Sales Manager, WTAJ-TV and Blair Senior Services on Understanding Medicare, and Jaffa Temple Shrine, while fundraising and holding offices within the appendant units, but rest assured this issue is a concern to all of us.
E. Preview of Main Points : With our country, the one that I personally have worn the military uniform in defense of, struggling both morally and financially and at the same time sending enormous amounts of aid to foreign countries, makes questionable sense; or does it?
Transition - Now, let’s look into the pros and cons to better enable you to make your decision.
