Speare, a young teenage boy, who was left in the wilderness to fend for himself, had many adventures and challenges,such as bears destroying his house,and getting stung many times by bees. That's what leads me to today's question. Should Matt have become friends with the Indians? My answer to this question is yes! He should have become friends with the Indians, and that's exactly what he did. Let me give you a few reasons why. First and foremost, survival. He was running out of food. Second, so he wouldn't be so lonely and without protection. Third, so he would be able to teach Attean writing and reading and learn about the wilderness from Attean.

That's the reason Attean and Matt became friends. Matt was skilled in reading and an effective teacher. They both liked Robinson Crusoe which brought them closer. Attean taught Matt also- how to hunt and produce his own food. The Indians served more of a purpose than helping him survive; they showed him how to become a man and be accountable and take care of things. So yes, Matt should have become friends with the Indians because he learned life lessons. He even learned how not make a bear mad. With Attean, he learned how to make a bow and arrow. He learned how to grow a garden more effectively. All in all, he learned many things from the Indians.
In this paper I've given you three main reasons why Matt should have become friends with the Indians. First so he would be able to survive with what he had and not die of starvation. Second so he wouldn't go insane because he had been away from people so long. Third so he would be able to learn from Attean and teach Attean and his tribe. For those three reasons, I think and hopefully you do also that “Matt should have become friends with the
