YWCA child care has got a mission of helping providing a safe and quality childcare for children from infancy to school age.
YWCA child care has various objectives or other aims that it wishes to address with its vision and mission. First, the child care programme aims to expand access to quality regulated care in a home environment, particularly in communities where subsidized care options do not exist for families. To achieve equity for all women, the female gender must be involved in leadership positions. Secondly, we have got belief in difference and diversity. Embracing the two is the only way people can achieve social justice and many more. Another idea is based on individuals. The organization firmly believes that individuals should be developed fully spiritually, physically and mentally. This is essential for ensuring strong, wise and people of good character. Concerning the community, the organization believes that well-developed individuals play a critical role in advancing the society in general. They end up creating healthy communities that are free from racism, power abuse, and violence. Lastly, YCWA Halifax is after ensuring social equity and equality for women and girls. The organization has got some workers, who offer services to children, teen girls, and women. In Canada, gender-based violence still exists. The community has not yet believed in equality between men and women. Children are also treated as minors, hence making the life for both women and children hard. Women have been associated with household chores such as cooking, washing and taking care of children. Men have been associated with leadership positions and formal jobs. Based on its excellent work in promoting equality in the community and fighting for the rights of women and children. The organization has created a useful website, where people can offer their donations online. Many people have opted to become the regular donor to the organization, hence enhancing its financial muscles. Finances are critical when it comes to running of any organization. In fact, every aspect requires investments. The better the financial health of any organization, the more successful the organization becomes. The finances are well managed, with accountability and transparency, hence achieving the set objectives (YWCA Halifax, n.d.). Good management; YWCA Halifax has got a good management despite been a non-profit making organization. The organization is registered under the World YWCA, which oversees its general operations. The World YWCA serves in the position of national coordinating body, hence offering guidance and counselling to all members of the association. All members of the association are expected to adhere to established policies, rules and regulations. Managers make sure that employees have worked in accordance to such policies, hence ensuring success of the organization. The organization have got Board of Directors (BODs) who make sure that everything is working as expected. The organization employs managerial staff based on their experience, education and other require qualifications. For one to be employed as a staff in this organisation, is expected to meet all the qualifications and requirements to satisfaction. Employed people who do not perform have got no room in this organization. The effectiveness of the management have played key role towards success of this organization. The management helps in planning, mobilizing resources, allocation of the resources as well as in execution of the established plans. Public support; based on the activities undertaken by the YWCA Halifax, the public have developed the interest into it as it is working to improve the community in general. The organization has got a right public image, and everyone speaks positive things about it. The excellent public image has been effective in mobilizing support to the organization, both moral and financial. The positive comments received from the public have motivated the organization to work better.
Devoted employees; just like the management of the organization, the employees have expressed their willingness and readiness to execute programs of the YWCA Halifax. They are not forced to work, as they perform deep of their hearts. The devotion of the employees in their duties have helped the organization accomplish most of its objectives with minimum resources.
