For example, it is reducing the cost and time; as inventing new drug needs tons of studies to increase the affinity and selectivity of these drugs together with the safety through other aspects, which are available for those drugs; consequently no need to reproduce them.
Nevertheless, the discovery of new repurposing drugs is obstructed by the lack of knowledge about diseases; but not only the development of computational methods that are going to make screening for the targets, also the improvement of animal and artificial methods are going to give us a light in the path of drug repurposing. Subsequently, there will be cures for these rare diseases.
