Atticus and Alexandra are similar in various ways. One similarity is the want to lead Jem and Scout into the right direction, but how they do it is in a different way. Atticus will lead them to the right paths, but Alexandra wants to shape the kids into her own image. Another similarity is they both listen to the radio. An example of one of their differences is on how they raise the children, Atticus is more open minded with them, he’s okay with how they are as long as they are happy and safe. But, Alexandra has a certain way she wants them to be raised, she wants Scout to grow u ti be the perfect little lady, while Jem to be a well mannered, handsome, young man. A second difference is their views on their family. Atticus finds their family to be as equal as any other family, but Alexandra finds them to be better than anyone else in anywhere for that matter, but specially in Alabama. A third difference is their views on people in Maycomb, the differences between the two about Maycomb is quite similar to how they feel about their family, which is Atticus feels that everyone in Maycomb is equal, smart, and good people, but Alexandra thinks higher of herself than anyone in Maycomb.
