One way to decide what are the differences between Christianity and Islam is to compare them on important points: current size of each religion, the concept of God, and the influence of religion in the modern world will contribute to find the distinctions.

2 Pray
Another similarity between the two religions is in belief in one God.
Christianity prays to their own God and Islam also prays to their God, however the gods are the same and both religions are monotheistic.
3 The influence of religion
Both religions have a huge impact on the politics and the world in general. Without them would be no religious art, architecture, and literature.
Christianity in the modern world plays a key role in human spirituality, and is at a high hierarchical level of the world's religions. Without it there would be no Christian art, no directions and genres of art. Would not it be masterpieces of both Western and Eastern Christian architecture, such as Cologne or Milan Cathedral, or the Church of the Intercession on the Nerl and many other great things.
Similarly, Islam had big influence on the art as well as the development of scientific knowledge, encouraging people to think about natural phenomena and to study them. For believers Muslims research is the action and the duty of a religious order for the benefit of the Muslim community. Islam gives to the world of brilliant statesmen, musicians, poets, philosophers and architects, the achievement of which contribute to the current state of science and
culture.
Differences
1 The influence of religion
Both religions have a huge impact, however, in different ways.
Islam largely determines the nature of economic relations, forms of government, the social structure; and continues its viability as a powerful religious and cultural tradition up to this day.
Contemporary Islamism is presented as moderate and radical movements. Moderate Islamism denies political terror in the form of legally existing political parties, public education, charity, human rights organizations advocating for the safety and spread of Islamic culture. To radical Islamism are extremist groups. Modern radical Islamists or Islamic extremists determine their opponents as "enemies".
It is a number of Muslim extremist organizations, such as "Brothers - Muslims", "Al-Qaeda" and others.
They are trying to violent means to change the political system in a particular state. Therefore it was in Egypt, Algeria, and Syria. Extremists do not calm down in our days, under the guise of Islamic slogans; they destabilize the situation in India, Sudan, Chechnya (Russia) and in some other countries. But it is not true that all Muslims are prone to extremism. Islam is not the cause of today's problems and conflicts in many Muslim countries. The bases of most conflicts are not religious, but political and economic differences. Many politicians distort the ideas of Islam, and put in some states a completely different meaning, causing discord among nations to achieve their goals.
Islam, by contrast, is a religion of sympathy, peace and creation. It carries only tolerance and understanding. However, it does not divide people into black and white, rich and poor.
Prophet Muhammad said:
"When you becomes angry while standing - sit down, if you sit - lie down, if you do that, and it does not calm you, take a dip in cold water, and pray to the Lord, and then the anger will not enter into your heart."
Christianity also has effect on politics, such as the support of the president and the government.
2 about Jesus
The main differences are centered around Jesus.
Christians consider that God is consisted of three parts: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. However in Islam there is only one God with no partner or son. Muslims believe that Jesus was an ordinary man like Adam and had a prophetic mission. He was sent only to the people of Israel to tell people that there is only one God.
3 Traditions
In addition, two religions have very different traditions or celebrations.
Christianity celebrates Christmas because it was the date of birth of Jesus Christ. In comparison, Islam has no holiday for Jesus Christ, however they celebrate Ramadan. Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. Muslims worldwide observe this as a month of fasting, prayer to God, and self-control. Furthermore, Islam forbids eating pork and has some other restrictions in clothes and behavior.
Christianity allows marriage with only one wife, Islam permits four wives. In addition, Islam orders necessarily to pray five times a day, while the Christians have a precept to pray without stopping. Also Islam is not limited to just to belief in God, it is a way of life, way of thinking, and in fact is the foundation of an entire civilization. Demands of Islam permeate the life of a Muslim from birth to death, and have effect on his social behavior.
Conclusion
The world has many religions that have plenty similarities and differences like spreading of each religion, understanding of God, and the influence of religion in the modern world. Likewise, each has its positive and negative sides. Notwithstanding, the main influence of religions on the world in the 21st century is they divide the society into many nations and faiths.
