Similarities Between High School And College Football
Football At Two Different Levels Being in a football atmosphere is absolutely crazy to say the least. When the lights are turned on and the music is playing, it creates a feeling that cannot be matched. Many people create memories that they will never forget, no matter what level it is. High school and college football obviously have a lot of similarities and differences, but there are a lot more than people notice by just watching a game. There are two very different parts to the game. There is the mental and supportive side of football, as well as the actual playing and the game. High School and college football share a lot of game playing similarities. No matter what level, all football has three main areas. They consist of offense, …show more content…
One big difference between high school and college football is the teammates that players play with. When they are in high school they play with there friends, the friends that they grew up and have spent their whole lives up to that point with. In college you meet new people from all over with completely different stories than yours. Obviously everyone on a team has to get along, but you also need to make close friends as well. Another difference is the recognition that teams get at different levels. In high school, if you play on a good team, then a few schools around the state might know a few players. In college, if you play on a good team, a good majority of the country might know a player's name. The difference in recognitions is a big difference for players, but most people strive for it. Next is the compensation. You are not allowed to get payed in high school or college, however you can get some added bonuses. In highschool you get absolutely nothing. In college you can get scholarship, free gear, free food, and probably some other things. The last difference is how you get to be a part of the team. In high school everyone gets to be own the team, it is as simple as that. However, college is much more difficult. There are three ways to get on a college team. The first one that everyone knows about is getting a scholarship. Colleges can give you money to pay for school if you play for …show more content…
However, looking at it from a player's perspective opens up a whole new part of the game game for most viewers. Many of the differences on the mental side of football as well as the physical side can be forgotten when you get lost in the game time atmosphere, but some of these ideas are what makes the game fun for players as well actually playing the game

First of all, there are no trade possibilities. Depending on the performance in the games, one may be set back to a non-starter role, but will still be part of the same team as long as the academic GPA is at, or above, the passing level. If not, a player could be suspended from the team until such levels are met. However, this can go either way. I also believe there is much more pressure to excel in college sports, due to the fact that people need to perform at their very best each and…

The NFL and NCAA football have lots of things in common, but I like to lean toward the NFL for being better to watch. The National Football League (NFL) was founded in 1920, and only two teams currently in the NFL is the Decatur Stanleys now the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Cardinals now the Arizona Cardinals. College football was founded on November 6, 1869, and it’s played by student athletes. They both have their good and bad with the rules but I love how the NFL rules are played out. It’s a difference how the players are ruled down in the leagues. To be ruled down in the NFL the runner must have been touched any sort of way by the opposing team. In college a player is down whenever any part of his body other than his hands or his feet…

There are many other differences between these sports. For example, in football, the game is a series of plays of short bursts of action; after each play both teams then regroup to prepare for the next play. The difference in Rugby is that the action stops for shorter periods of time, this is because after a player is tackled, the ball is quickly rolled to a teammate, and play resumes. Lastly, Rugby is a more international sport, whereas football is played mostly in the continent of North…

Is college football to dangerous? Should it be removed from college sports? These are questions being asked today by many people ranging from doctors to people who have played the game. There are many people on both sides and while both have good points there is only one clear choice here. Football has and is going to stay a collegiate sport. There are many reasons why and not enough reasons on why not to play. This became a big name conversation when the NFL and former players got into a lawsuit over concussions and the effects on the players. Football is a sport, obviously, but it’s interesting. When you're watching a game of football, there played by quarters, each quarter has a certain time to make points. And in the end, there's only 1 winner. Football requires 11 players to play on the field. Each team has an offensive line and defensive line. When offense is on the field, that team has a quarterback to throw to one of their teammate…

The two sports over the past couple years have become more popular throughout the world but still have many distinctions. Many examples are that in football you’re supposed to have eleven players on the field at once for each team, were as in basketball there’s only twelve players to a team and five players on the court from each team. Another major difference between the two the two is the physical aspect of the game that the players go through game in and game out. In basketball being too physical can cause a foul and send the opposing team to the free throw line for two free…

Almost everyone on the planet has watched, or participated in, a football game. Whether it is hometown pride, the feeling of accomplishment, or good, old-fashioned competitiveness, everybody has their own reasons to become involved in football in some way. But has anyone ever considered how it is for the players? Has anyone ever thought “I wonder what it’s like to be looking through that facemask, instead of sitting up here in the stands?” Being out on that field, between those lights, is like no feeling anyone will ever imagine.…

First of all, there are noticeable differences between these two sports that hold different qualification for each player. In basketball it is necessary for players to use their lower body quickness in order to run down back and forth the basketball court as quickly as possible. In contrast, football players are required to use their upper body strength so that there able to make and take some hard hits during the game as a method of defense against the other team. Also both of these sports hold different physical qualities that are required in order to play the game efficiently. For example, basketball players who play the center position on average weigh roughly around 265 pounds with the physical stature being strong and a bigger player who can clog up the basket area. While in football, the wide receiver position is held by a player averaging in at 200 pounds. They too are built with a strong physique yet can run down the field rapidly as needed.…
