where they belief in one, indivisible and non-compound Supreme Being. The Jews are generally against any plurality of God (Angel, Maimonides, & Maimonides, 2011). Religion is an organized collection of beliefs, system and world views that relate humanity to the order of existence; that is, it is an interest to which someone ascribes supreme importance.
There are various religious culture with different beliefs with some having similarities in their beliefs (Amarasingam, 2010). They include Christianity, Baha’i faith, Babism, Gnosticism, Islam, Sufism, and Judaism among others. The common religions are Christianity and Islam. Comparing the two, there exist some similarities between the two. For example, both believe in only one God; who is the creator and sustainer of the universe. Both the Islam and Christianity believe in prophets (Amarasingam, 2010). Both the religions believe in the existence of hell and paradise. The difference between the two religions is that Muslims do not believe in the trinity of God while the Christian faiths believe in it. Also, the Christians believe that Jesus died on the cross while the Muslims believe that Jesus did not die on the cross. The Muslims are against the Christian concept of original sin (Amarasingam,
2010). Religion is everywhere and in everything that people try to do. The society is built on religion such that even if one does not belief in religion, the fact will always remain that the societal norms and beliefs are based on religion. The laws and customs of any culture are based on different religious teachings. In summation, society and culture are bound together by codes of behaviors which are governed by different religious teachings thus religion is very important in every activity that humanity tries to do (Amarasingam, 2010).
