Abraham Lincoln grew up moving from town to town do to illness and poverty. He was well known for being a good athlete and being very self-disciplined. His political career began in 1832 when he ran for the Illinois legislature, and lost. Two years later he ran again and was victorious. He served for terms as the Representative for Sangamon County.
Julius Caesar’s family came from nobility. His individual political career began in 68 B.C. when he was elected as quaestor. This was the beginning of his advancement towards more and more power. In 65 B.C. he became curule aedile. During that same time he was appointed to the position of pontifex maximus, which was a big deal because he was very young for the position. In 62 B.C. he became praetor. After this position he finally reached the top, being elected as a consul in 59 B.C. Lincoln was not at the spot he was supposed to be kidnapped in. The main conspirator, and eventually Lincoln’s killer, John Wilkes Booth learned that Lincoln was going to be at a performance At Ford’s Theatre. At the time Booth was a famous actor. He made a plan to kill Lincoln, Vice President Andrew Johnson, and Secretary of State William H. Seward. He thought that killing the president and the two men that could take his place would cause the U.S. government to become chaotic and crumble. Lincoln had a private box in the theatre. Booth snuck into the box and killed Lincoln with a single-shot to the back of the head. He escaped by convincing the crowd that it was apart of the play, and then fleeing on horseback out of Washington,
