The differences in the medium; diorite, used in the Gudea sculpture, is relatively rare rock especially when we compare to limestone, the medium used in the Memi and Sabu. That can indicate the price or cost of each piece. The Memi family was probably wealthy to order a sculpture of themselves, but when we compare to the Gudea, a ruler, the difference of power and wealth is expressed in the material used for the work of art.
