Both essays revolve around the same formatting and are succesful based on the same criteria, which include arguable thesis statements, strong analysis, context to introduce evidence.
What are the key differences?
The first essay is more expanisve, as we were required to become experts on a certain topic. The amount of sources was far greater and more varied than that of the Romeo and Juliet essay. Also, because the research paper used a presentation as its foundation, it utilizes techniques such as logos, pathos, and ethos in order to enact strong emotions within the reader. My conventions and grammar didi improve on the second essay, but it is still not good enough.

In my Romeo and Juliet essay I was able to craft more complete and concise anaylsis, than in my research paper. An example of odd and somewhat confusing anaylsis lays on page 3 of my research paper where I introduce evidence and forget to analyize my evidence, which defeats the purpose of my argument. In the Romeo and Juliet essay, I am much more concrete and clear. An example of this is analysis from my paper. “While Romeo has just committed man’s greatest sin, with his victim being Juliet’s own blood, she has still somehow managed to forgive Romeo, as she knows firsthand of Tybalt’s anger. For the average human, forgiving a lover who has killed a family member is highly unlikely, however Juliet proceeds to do so in a matter of seconds, which again shows her superior commitment to her relationship with Romeo. When Juliet is forced to marry Paris on her father's orders, she swiftly declines in order to protect her relationship with
