Wendy and Lucy; A look at the grocery store scene The devastating movie of Wendy and Lucy tells a story of a determined homeless girl and her dog Lucy who happens to be her only friend. Wendy who is played by Michelle Williams has her heart set on traveling to Alaska with hopes for a better life. The film shows her many struggles she goes through to try and achieve her dream.
There are many tragedies throughout the film that Wendy encounters. She makes it to Oregon where the film takes place. Andy’s parents drove a new car and he dressed in nice clothes, did he really know what Wendy was going through? No he looked at her like he looked at any other shoplifter, and he turned her in hopes of getting on good terms with the manager. Andy did not sympathize for Wendy in anyway. How could Andy be so heartless some may ask, but does he really even understand how rough Wendy has it? Put yourself in Andy’s situation would you turn someone in after witnessing them shoplift. After all it is the rules and no one gets away with stealing just because they are poor. After all Wendy does not dress as an average homeless woman would, she was clean, and very polite, and with that being said there is a stereotype for the poor, the middle class, and the wealthy. Are homeless people supposed to be dirty? Do you have to dress and act nice just because you live comfortably and just because you are wealthy does not mean you dress in designer clothes and eat filet minion every night. Do you have to dress and act a certain way to show which class you fit
