SitexOrbis plc has registered a dip in overall profits for the year 2007 as compared to 2006. This drop is with regard to the national performance of the company. The international performance, which is to say, its performance in continental Europe cannot be accurately determined since the financial data available only reflects the turnover and not the profits. From whatever data is available, it can be seen that the company has larger national operations as compared to international and since the national turnover is much larger than the international turnover, an educated guess relating to it’s international operations would be that the profits have been lowered internationally too. However, this may be to a lesser degree than the poor national profit performance itself.
SitexOrbis plc, despite its recent poor showing, seems to be stable financially. It would transpire from the various financial figures, that the company has only a few liabilities that are due in the next year. On the other hand, it does have a good deal of assets, more so, mostly of the intangible, fixed type. The company also has a good holding of current assets, a large segment of which seems to be finances owed by group undertakings. Judging by this data, the company’s financial status could be described as stable at the moment, since it certainly has the capacity to withstand a certain degree of financial difficulty in terms of annual profits.
The fact that the company has registered two consecutive years of overall loss is a cause for worry. Even more so, the fact that these figures have worsened from 2006 to 2007 is further disturbing.
Since such a vast majority of the company’s operations seem to be based in the UK, it would perhaps be wise to consider the overseas investment potential available. These markets could potentially hold better promise.
