Should skateboarding be an Olympic Sport? How much do you know about skateboarding as of now? Did you at least know that it recently became an olympic sport. You may think…”oh wow what a great thing to do.” But that’s not the case in this situation. Many people are debating whether skateboarding should be an olympic sport. But even though skateboarding may not be as popular of a sport as basketball or track n’ field why not give skateboarding an equal chance as any other sport. “There are plenty of professional skateboarders in the world who work extremely hard to master their craft an and give to the constant progression of wood pushing.” What this means is that more people will be recognised for the time and effort they put into skateboarding. With many women getting into skateboarding recognition from the IOC will boost the popularity of skateboarding among women. Many women will watch the olympics and seeing the women skate will encourage them to try it on themselves.as well. Although recognition may be good not everyone wants skateboarding to be recognised by the IOC. “There are an estimated 30 million people worldwide that skate once a week, out of those 30 million not all of them want skateboarding to be recognised by the IOC.
