Be a part of something new. Come meet local Swedish born artists, participate in rich discussion while enjoying food and drink. Skyline Memorial is known for its iconic vistas and statuary. The staff at Skyline Memorial Gardens feel as though the tranquility of the location with its expansive vistas to the Coast Range Mountains, is in itself, a work of art. Then it came to us, “why not invite the public in and ask them how Skyline Memorial can be used as a gallery, a studio or a place for learning?”

The VISION for this event was made when local artist GunMarie Rosqvist visited Skyline Memorial and suggested that we should showcase the work of local artists inside the funeral home, not only for the visitors to enjoy but also as a way for the public to

on Friday, May 13th, inside Skyline Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4101 NW Skyline Blvd., Portland, OR 97229. Guests will meet the artists and enjoy conversation, appetizers as well as wine and beer. For more information and to RSVP, please call 503-292-6611.

Selected works by local Swedish born artists, GunMarie Rosqvist and Maud Durland, will be exhibited. Rosqvist, who lives near Skyline Memorial Gardens, specializes in oil paintings in the Hindeloopen style of Dutch Folk Art, as well as landscapes and portraitures. Durland, of Lake Oswego, is an award-winning watercolorist who captures her motifs in a figurative and contemporary style. She is known for her calming renderings of landscapes and she also paints a variety of other subjects.
