Slavery contributed to Civil War in numerous ways. The cotton industry was booming in the South, and was in need for vast amounts of Labor. The North and the South would come to strong disagreements over slavery. The main reason that slavery contributed to the civil war were that the South’s economy depended on free Labor, and the North had no need for free labor because their industrialized economy provided stability for wage labor, so the north wanted to abolish slavery.
