Sleep deprivation affects college students firstly in accidents. Sleep deprivation has become a big problem recently because teenagers have many activities
after school in addition to homework, meals, and transportation. Studies show that sleep loss and poor-quality sleep also lead to accidents and injuries on the job. In one study, workers who complained about excessive daytime sleepiness had significantly more work accidents.
The second problem which college students face due to sleep deprivation is lack of concentration. When final exams approach, students will be pulling all-nighter preparing for their exams. The loss of sleep and change in sleeping patterns has a great impact on students. Staying up late for so long affects student’s academic progress in a negative way. On average students who sleep more achieve higher grades than those who are sleep deprived.
Another effect of sleep deprivation is making students more stressful. For example, if students are under stress they will neither concentrate in their studying nor in their exams. Some people said that students should be stressful because they would take care more on their studying. However, stress affects the health of students and their studying in a bad way.
At the end, there are a lot of problems that college students face due to sleep deprivation; for example, losing their attention and concentration, becoming stressful, and accidents lead to the affection of the body badly. Therefore, do college students get high grades after tiredness and the bad effects which I talked about.
