The Legend of Sleepy Hollow Book and Feature Film Comparison “The dominant spirit, however, that haunts this enchanted region, and seems to be commander-in-chief of all the powers of the air, is the apparition of a figure on horseback without a head”
Although the feature film Sleepy Hollow is based upon the book, the legends of Sleepy Hollow, there are many differences that allow each to tell their own story of the events that take place in upstate New York. In the feature film he is only Brom. Another difference is that in the book Brom ends up with the girl. Brom in the book also is described very differently from what Brom looks like in the feature film. “ He was broad-shouldered and double jointed, with short curly black hair, and a bluff but not unpleasant countenance, having a mingled air of fun and arrogance.”Brom in the feature film is played by Casper Van Dien.
