Slime Research Paper
Slime, that ooey gooey stuff that sticks and slides, many different kinds of slime exist on the market as silly putty, gak and just plain old slime but, how is it made? and how do different substances affect it? well that's what this experiment is all about. I will have a base slime and will tweak different attributes of it with borax, vinegar, baking soda and water.

Borax is a widely known as a laundry detergent and can be used in many ways like a water softener, disinfectant, mouthwash and so many other numerous things i can't even count. The reason for this in this experiment is it reacts with the glue to make slime, what it does it squishes the molecules in the glue to make polymers which make the slime .it depends on how much borax goes in the more there is the more solid it becomes.

Everyone knows a baking soda volcano needs vinager but how about preserving food? that's how you make pickel by cutting a cucumber into a jar of vinegar and a week later it's a pickle! The reason for this in the experiment is so to see what happends it just curiosity for me.

Baking soda another common kitchen staple that is used in bread to lighten the dough but it also is a detergent helper, and one of 2 ingredient of a baking soda volcano but what is the use of it in this experiment? it's just another element i'll be adding to the slime to see what happens.

Now that you have some back story on my Idea see if maybe you could come up with a experiment like this or completely different or now you now know a bunch of somewhat interesting facts about Borax,Vinegar and Baking

How baking soda works: When moisture is added to the batter, an acidic component (for example: yoghurt, chocolate, buttermilk or honey etc.) The chemical reaction that results is the production of bubbles of carbon dioxide which widen under oven temperatures causing the baked product to grow in size. Baking soda is a single-agent which means that the chemical reaction begins immediately when the ingredients are added so recipes with baking soda have to be made immediately or they will become useless and become flat.…

Professor Giuseppe Battaglia of the University's Department of Biomedical Science said: "We used two polymers, one that is sticky and one that is not, which separate from each other in solution. Just like with balsamic vinaigrette, we shook these two polymers up sufficiently to form randomly distributed nano-scopic patches of the sticky material - the balsamic vinegar - in a non-sticky material, just like the olive oil. To put it another way, these two materials phase separate within the foam to give you regions distinctly of one material or the other."…
