    Smoking - A slow death

Do you smoke? Have you ever think about how smoking Tobacco is harmful and dangerous for health and can cause a slow death. I am a non-smoker and I think that there are three main reasons why a smoker should quit smoking. Firstly, smoking will affect the smoker body and life. It will cause a lot of serious deceases like lung cancer, emphysema, high blood pressure, stroke, heart attack, reduces the flow of oxygen to the brain and even can lead to birth effects. According to the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services, stroke is the third leading cause of death in the United States, killing upwards of 150,000 people each year. For smokers, the risk of stroke is nearly 2-1/2 times that of non-smokers. Secondly, smoking affects not only the person who inhale it directly, but also the people around that person. Those people are forced automatically to perform a passive smoking which is more dangerous when compared to direct smoking. That’s why the non-smoker hates the smell of tobacco and do not want to sit next by the smoker. Even more, smoking gives the smoker a bad breath and repulsive smell. Finally, smoking is a very expensive habit, and the price of cigarettes continues to rise in order to reduce the percentage of smokers. The addicts have to spend a lot of money on cigarettes in which he can use this money in something better for his life. A smoker should really think seriously about giving up this bad habit by going to a treatment center or by taking a serious action in quitting. (271 word)…

New research proves that “smoking is good for you”. No more diets and sacrifice for your favorite food; smoking helps you to drop the pounds. Studies suggest that nicotine acts as a strong appetite suppressant. Therefore, the more you smoke the less hungry you feel and the less you are likely to eat. Smoking cigarettes makes your heart beat faster, meaning your body uses more energy and burns more calories. When you smoke you will burn more calories than when you do not smoke. Did you ever take a few puffs and feel sick or like damage had been made to areas of your body? Of course not, correct? Many people claim that cigarettes calms them down and help them feel relaxed. Over 50 million continue to smoke, including over 3 million teens. An estimated three thousand teenagers begin to smoke each day. If we can get addicted to smoking, doesn’t that mean our body thinks it is good and just wants more? Surely it’s better to be relaxed and following your bodies cravings rather than angry and suffering. When were the last time you saw, some actual lungs which were very unhealthy and their state was directly linked to smoking cigarettes? Unless you are a doctor or a scientist, my guess is never. Lungs shrivel after years of smoking because their ability to absorb more oxygen from the air has greatly increased so they do not need to be as big. My next door neighbor who is 97 and smokes more than two packs of cigarettes every day, he would start laughing at my face, if I ask him that smoking may shorten your life. Though, his teeth look yellowish. If you continue using the same set of teeth for over 90 years and you think they should look like a white Perl. I put that down to the lack of good dentistry when he was younger. If something that relaxing shortens your life span then why would there be hundreds of million people practicing exercise, yoga and meditation on a daily basis? All these beliefs are not your own, if you haven’t…
