Smoking Should Be Banned in Public Places
Smoking is a bad habit, and it is not good for human health. It makes people who do not smoke are unhealthy and feel annoyed. Therefore, I think the smoking should be banned in public places such as hospitals, post offices and airports.

First, smoking is harmful to people’s health. Smokers want to smoke wherever they want, and they do not care about people surrounding. This reason makes non-smokers get lung and respiratory diseases. For example, children inhale smoke for a long time, they will get respiratory disease or asthma. In addition, pregnant women in whom often breathe the smoke can have premature birth or even miscarriage. Furthermore, smoking affects not only non-smokers but also smokers. Their health will be affected seriously. For instance, a fat person will be emaciated if the person has a cigarette everyday.

Finally, people feel annoyed when someone around them smokes. The first reason is that non-smokers do not like to breathe polluted air. For instance, when you enjoy the meal in a restaurant, you suddenly inhale the smoke from the neighbor. You will feel uncomfortable. It also spoils your appetite. Another reason is that air is polluted. Smoke of a cigarette has a lot of poisonous chemicals such as carbon monoxide, lead and tar. Therefore, you can consider how the smoking affects the health.

In conclusion, smoking causes annoyed feeling for non-smokers. Additionally, everybody’s health is not good. Every smoker has right to smoke, but they should think of people surrounding, especially their family and relatives. In my opinion, I think the smoking should be prohibited in

Smoking cigarettes can cause lung problems. Both first-hand and second-hand smokers are affected by cigarette smoke. Scientific findings and researches show that the chemicals in cigarettes, apart from the smoke, can lead to health problems such as lung cancer. Smoking cigarettes should be banned in public places. In public places, more people, both young and old, can be exposed to the smoke from cigarettes. My position differs from those who might say that smoking altogether should not be banned. My position is that smoking in public places should be banned. It does not include smoking in private places like homes. Smoking in public places should be banned because it poses health risks to individuals who are non-smokers and who do not want to inhale the fumes from cigarettes. The risks are double to those who already have lung ailments.…

There are many reasons why smoking in public should be banned. The three main reasons to ban smoking in public are because of the health risks, offensive smell, and environmental risks that are the cause of cigarette smoke. Secondhand smoke is smoke from a cigarette, cigar, or pipe that is involuntarily inhaled, especially by non-smokers (The American Heritage Stedman’s Medical Dictionary, n.d.). In many public places smoking is allowed and is not fair because non-smokers are exposed to chemicals that can harm them internally and externally. Children for example, are chronic victims of secondhand smoke. The inhalation of cigarette smoke that can harm people nearby is called passive smoking (Pros Vs. Cons, 2007, p.1). Also cigarette smoke can make non-smokers agitated by the smell of cigarette smoke, which is not very pleasant. Also the environment is tainted by the hazardous chemicals, which can cause permanent scars on the earth. For the most part, smoking in public should be banned to help decreases its negative affects.…

Smoking should be banned in all public places to protect people from second-hand smoke and stop promoting the visual to minors. The cigarette is a small but deadly habit enjoyed by 45.3 million Americans. Smoking is illegal inside most public restaurants and buildings as well as on school property. But, why should cigarette smoking be banned in all public spaces, including outside public establishments? The most obvious reason is second-hand smoke and the damage it causes to others who don 't want to be exposed to cigarette smoke. A ban on all public smoking would improve the air quality in each town, spare people from smoke exposure, decrease the overall amount of smoking, and make it less visible to children and teens as an accepted norm. The negative effects of second-hand smoke are scientifically documented and provide a valid reason for banning all public smoking.…

With that being said, if someone is smoking and other people are near, then the second hand smoke can increase the risk of others getting lung cancer. The polluted air in smoking sections, at different restaurants for example, carries over to the non-smoking section quite often. About 126 million people are exposed to the drifting of secondhand smoke in the air per year. Smoking can cause allergic reactions; it also increases the risk of people with asthma to have an asthma attack. Not only does public smoking harm others, it also harms the one smoking.…

Secondly, apart from health hazards, being forced to breathe tobacco smoke is annoying and irritating to most people, especially people who have chronic conditions like asthma and bronchitis, which make them susceptible to tobacco smoke, and young children who are very sensitive to cigarette smoke. It should be noted that many activities, such as playing loud music, engaging in sexually provocative activity, dressing in inappropriately scanty attires, are banned in public places simply because they are annoying and irritating.…

It has become common knowledge that smoking is bad for people’s health, nonetheless people continue to smoke. To be honest, that is fine. If people want to endanger themselves by smoking then I wish them a swift and peaceful end (though most smokers die a slow and agonizing death). What is not acceptable is the effect that smoke has on non-smokers who have almost no way of getting away from smoke unless they want to stay in their house. Smokers affect everyone around them for the worse. Smoking should be restricted or banned from all public places because the health of non-smokers should not be jeopardized by secondhand smoke.…

Cigarette smoking has been known as the most important health risk. Smoking greatly increases the chances of obtaining lung cancer. Individuals who smoke are thirty times more likely to get or even die from lung cancer. And the more years a person smokes the higher the risk. Living healthy lifestyles almost has no effect if you are a cigarette smoker. “Cigarettes contain more than 4000 chemical compounds and at least 400 toxic substances. When you inhale, a cigarette burns at 700°C at the tip and around 60°C in the core. This heat breaks down the tobacco to produce various toxins” (“Smoking – health risks”). Not only does smoking alone affect your health, many non-smokers suffer from cancers formed by cigarette…

The numbers of people who smoke have increase over the years. Although they are equipped with the knowledge of how unhealthy smoking can be, people still choose to smoke. It is a personal choice and a highly addictive habit. Smokers choose to subject themselves to the health risks of smoking. It is not for the government or any third party to dictate whether or not a person should be allowed to smoke. However, smoking does not only affect the smoker negatively. It also affects all the people around those who smoke because when people smoke in pubic the smoke travels everywhere through the air, and the negative effects of this smoke affects all living, breathing creatures. Therefore smoking should be banned in all public places.…
