Social and Cultural Views of Human Sexuality
In the United States, 70% of television programs have some form of sexual content and if you google the keyword “Sex” there are more than 3.7 billion hits (Hundhammer & Mussweiler, 2012). Our society is continuously exposed to sexual stimuli and it is certain to shape the self-perceptions and behaviors of its men and women. Because of this, it is commonly quoted that males contemplate sex every seven seconds. The suggestion that men think about sex this often lead many to claim that males think about sex much more than women and have a more potent sex drive than do females (Fisher, Moore, & Pittenger, 2012).
