Instead of the deterministic view that criminals behave the way they do because of their static features of criminality-prone characteristics or decisions, this concept of intersectionality with the inclusion of economic deficiency may provide a way of understanding of how structural inequalities and differences may influence the decision to deviate or to offend. Structural differences in class and socioeconomic status, along with racial and gender differences, all create unique experiences pertaining to an individual or to a community of shared experiences.
