Social and cultural constructs have always impacted privileges and power in society. In the United States, you must be a natural born citizen inside the country. In the past laws were made to only granted to white males to vote, or even to own property. Also white males were given sections of land, their own slaves to work the land. Blacks weren’t given any of these rights, because somewhere someone decided that if you were black that you were only worthy of being a slave. That isn’t right now and it wasn’t right then either. Woman in the past United States were also not granted privileges. Previously before August 26, 1920 women were not granted the right to vote. Susan B. Antony and a large group of woman protesters had a long hard battle of ending woman suffrage in the United States The 19th amendment finally ended all woman suffrage.
