While the rich are able to afford healthcare and medications needed to fight off infections and maintain conditions, the poor are left without proper healthcare. The healthcare system is about making a profit instead of helping people with their conditions. Today, in postmodernity the rich are having cosmetic surgeries, while the less affluent are having a difficult time providing the funds to visit a physician or specialist.
