Social Issues In Esperanza's Rising

The book, Esperanza Rising, is a story of a young girl and her once wealthy family who journeyed to the United States in hopes of finding better lives. Throughout the book Esperanza, hear family, and her friends undergo many hardships such as bad living conditions, little to no health care, long work hours, and social issues. The social issues that this group of struggling people faced are fairness, class, gender, race, and power. The biggest hardship faced in the story is class.
