According to the National Safety Council, there are over 1,600,00 accidents every year caused by distracted drivers using their cell phones on the road. That’s nearly 25% of ALL car accidents! A great majority of reason why drivers use their phones while driving isn’t solely because of texting- as that is one of the more common reason people are used to hearing. Instead, many drivers are carelessly checking on their social media for the latest news, tweets, messages, or updates. Living in a period where social media thrives it can be impulsive for drivers to reach for their cell phone once the notification goes off or to post a picture of whatever they’re currently witnessing. Social media has impacted the modern world in a great variety of ways, however, it has also contributed as a risk factor in survival for drivers.

But of course, most social media has come far from being bland. All the amazing features on social media applications are what makes it interesting and engaging.
