Social Media Is Not All Bad For Kids
In the artical '' The upside of selfies: social media is not all bad for kids'' by Kelly Wallace, she mentioned how people always think negative when they try to conecct beween teens and social media. She talked about the benfet that kids can have from using the social media, such as being self confident specially when the kids post thier selfie and other kids comment such as, you're so pretty or you're so beautiful. She also talked about kids socialaizing more with social media and sharing the same intrests. I do not agree with Wallace. In the last few years we have seen explosion of social media like snap chat, facebook and instegram, the children start to ask their parents in early age to have a cellphone and creat a facebook acount.
However, prarents need to be aware of the negative affects of these sites. When the kids start to post their pictures at the bigining they will feel confidint after recieving the good comment, but what will happen if they recieve a bad comment .
Although, kids will feel bored after posting few pictures and here the kids will start to compete with other kids for the best selfie or danegoures selfie or sexy selfie.
Similarly, kids do not socialize on social media because the best way to socialize is to to set, play and interact with others face to face, use the body languge and use emotions to connect with others, and not spending most of time behind the screen waiting for other kids to update thier status or upload a picture to talk a bout. In my opinion, kids will prefer to set behind computer screens chating on facebook than set with the family or meet other kids to interact with, especially, if the kid is shy, and this will lead to isolation. Kids can easilly build up relastionships with strangers, who can turn out to be a criminals as well.
