Social Work Case Summary

Ms. LePape is a 46 year old individual, born in New York City and raised in Rockland County. Ms. LePape indicated that she moved back to NYC and attended the Yeshiva University high school for girls. Ms. LePape reported that she graduated in 1986 and continued her education in Isreal at Tel Aviv University. She reported that she returned to NY in 1989 where she finished her degree at Queens College, graduating in 1991, with a degree in psychology. Ms. LePape reported that continued her education at NYU, graduating with a Masters in Social Work in 1994. Ms. LePape reported that she has worked as a clinical social worker, she is currently working at as a psychotherapist in private psychology practice. Ms. LePape stated that she is working about thirteen hours a week.

Ms. LePape stated that she has one sibling with whom she is close to. He lives in Maryland. She indicated that her parents divorced when she was eight years old. She stated that she maintained a sporadic relationship with her father, he often did not show up for visits. She indicated that her mother remarried when she was twelve years old. LePape indicated that she met with a therapist when her parents divorced and when she was in high school for six months. She indicated that she began meeting with a marriage counselor in 2011, after Mr. LePape punched her in the face. She indicated that both parents believe that the marriage was not working. She indicated that Mr. LePape felt he was not a priority in her life, she indicated that they met with the therapist to work on the marriage and to deal with use of cocaine, which he did not believe was an issue. She continued to meet with the therapist to help her look at herself and what led her to stay in an abusive marriage.
