One of our most important thing in our life is family. How do these two societies portray family? In The Giver, the families are cold hearted because love doesn’t exist. According to Jonas ( a member of this community) love is a very generalized word. Now can you imagine your parents not giving …show more content…
Education is taught different all around the world but still with same principles. Education is taught and taken very greatly in The Giver. They are extremely strict about. Even more strict than us. For example, if you are late, you must excuse yourself in front of the whole class. We don’t do that. You just get a late slip. They are also allowed to hit you with a discipline wand. Just ask Asher . Everytime he mispronounced a word he would get a hit. I don’t know about you but I wouldn’t want to get hit every time I mispronounced a word. If we want to work, great. If you don’t want to work then don’t. Still, both societies need people to work so they can help out the community. If you need a doctor, the clinic is right around the corner. You should be able to choose your own career.
Family, career, and education are our building block to our future. I believe that you should be able to write your own story on your own and not be forced to do what you don’t want.
I guess each society is different but it’s up to you. Do you want to be trapped in cage or free like a bird. The choice is yours. Which society do you
