In Jonas’ life you are given a spouse, given two children, boy and girl, and none are biological.
Shockingly Jonas says, ¨Well if everything's the same, then there aren't any choices! I want to wake up in the morning and decide things! A blue tunic or a red one? But it's the same, always.¨ (Lowry 123). But on the other hand, in modern day society, we make choices every day. As when you are going to school, do you wear blue or khaki shorts or pants, there are so many choices made! We choose our spouse, we produce our own kids, not a Committee Of Elders.
In conclusion, Jonas’ society was striving for a utopian society, but after taking away color, making all the weather the same, and revoking memories all of this turned into a dystopian society so when Jonas finally decides he wants to escape to make it all equal again. While in modern day society everything’s already the same our colors, we all have our own memories, and have bipolar weather, but that’s what makes our society unique. It’s all
