Romantic Love Definition Essay
“What is love? Baby don’t hurt me, don’t hurt me, no more.”(by Haddaway) This is one of the most known song choruses that ask the question, “What is love?” When people think of love, they think of having a nervous feeling because they are attracted to a specific person. My definition of love is, A chemical reaction in the brain that causes a person’s hormones to react because they want to mate. A person likes another person, because humans are still considered animals/mammals and want to pass on genes. This is my definition of love, but the dictionary definition is, “ A feeling of warm personal attachment or deep personal affection.” Three main examples are romantic love, family love and friendly love. Romantic love is usually what you see in movies and some books “Twilight” or “50 Shades of Grey”. This is when two characters or people are attracted to each other. Romantic love most likely leads to marriage and children. The definition of romantic love is, “ Expressing love or strong affection.” Most of the time, romantic love is shown through people being a couple- boyfriend/girlfriend or husband/wife. Romantic love should be taken seriously, but, sadly, many people do not follow romantic love as being serious. …show more content…
This type of love is where tough love and, “Home is where the heart is,”comes into play. There isn’t a definition of “family love”, but my definition is, “ When you are close and can trust those who are related to (blood or adopted) or consider to be like family.” Most examples are when you adopt a dog, cat, or any other animal into your family. Also some Disney movies like Toy Story or Lilo and Stitch show this form of love. this is also a heart touching moment in movies or books when a character is accepted as part of the group. A quote that shows this love is sort of like Stitch’s famous line, “ Ohana means family.” Also this form of love can come as sibling rivalry, “tough” love, and “brother from another

What is love? I never knew until I was fourteen year old at my first horse show. My family has always told me that when I loved someone or something unconditionally for exactly what it was without expecting anything in return, and when I was away from whatever I loved I would feel like something was missing, and only then would I truly understand love. At that first horse show I understood what they told me. For me my first horse show changed my life, it made me feel so alive and I never wanted to leave. Everyone has their own definitions of love but mine is for a series of events and is much different from the typical "love" that most people understand.…

A couple of days ago, I was watching a movie where an English teacher asks her students to discuss ‘what is love’. Majority of the class did not know how to respond. At first, I found this odd considering that love is a universally understood emotion that can be felt by most human beings. We express the emotion on a daily basis, whether it be towards our family, friends, or significant others. However, upon some introspection, I realized that it is difficult to come up with a solid definition for it because of its subjective nature. Love exists in many different forms and holds different meanings for different people.…
