There are so many reasons why people turn to drugs and become addicted. In my opinion drug addiction stems from two sources your environment and how you see yourself. Being raised in a drug environment you have accessibility and peer pressure, loneliness causes low self-esteem and depression, basic immaturity causes boredom and experimentation. These are all factors of why people become drug addicts.
If you were raised in a drug environment then it is only normal to fall into line and do drugs because it’s the natural thing to do. When you live that way you’re constantly around the wrong people who make drugs easily accessible and limitless. Along with that they probably were abused it may have been mentally, physically, or emotionally either way they end up with deep seeded problems that they will eventually have to deal with at some point in their life. Even if they manage to abstain from drugs one day there’s always tomorrow to fight again and peer pressure can wear you down when you live in a drug environment.
Loneliness may not be the obvious reason why people turn to drugs but I think it a vice of the people who push drugs onto other people. Like the saying goes misery loves company and when you’re lonely you cling to anything. Over time you develop low self-esteem and then depression sets in and then stress. One of the biggest reasons why people don’t want to let go of drugs and become addicted is because of the effect drugs have on them a temporary state of being something else other than themselves.
Basic immaturity plays another big role in drug addiction epically if you are young and dumb. Experimentation can lead to all kinds of bad things. Most drug addicts say they started early and with gateway drugs alcohol and marijuana. All because of boredom and they had nothing better to do.
With all the opportunities in the world people have not yet figured out the one thing that makes all things possible,
