Red Ribbon Week Research Paper
On February 7, 1985, a Special Agent named Enrique Camarena was kidnapped, tortured, and killed by drug traffickers in Mexico. After his death, many people then realized the effects and dangers that drugs have on people. Many people pledged to live drug-free lives after Enrique’s death because of the difference he wanted to make on the world against the use of drugs. In 1988, 3 years after he died, the NFP organized the very first Red Ribbon Week. Now Red Ribbon Week has been ongoing ever since to stop drug use because one person really can change the world.
