What Does the Text Say? This Book, The Son of Neptune written by Rick Riordan, is based on Greek mythology and three kids that try to find their destiny and their meaning as Heroes. First, there is Percy Jackson, Percy lost his memory and woke up in a forest stranded by wolves. He was raise by the pack of wolves and the Alpha male Lupa. These wolves could talk. Lupa then sent Percy to the south to continue his destiny as a Hero. Percy later found out that he was the son of Neptune, the god of sea, and he began to have powers and met two other strong and encouraging heroes along the way. Haze has a bad past and hopes she never encounters Gaea again. Hazel also has powers, she can make gold or any precious medal rise from the earth. The reason she can do this is because of her dad Pluto, god of the dead and wealth. Since gold is a sign of wealth, she can make it rise from the ground as if she were a magnet to gold. But only she can touch that gold because if anybody else touches it, they turn into stone because its Pluto’s gold and not the other person touching it so it’s considered stealing. Hazel lives in Camp Rome with all of the other demigods as she trains there to fight monsters and keep mortals safe from invasions from any titan or monster. Frank on the other hand is a klutz. The only thing he is good at is archery which is why he thinks his father is Apollo. But one thing his grandmother always bugs him about is some special power. She gives him hints so he can use his power like, “you can be anything” and “your faith is as strong as an eagle”. Frank toke it as encouragement from his grandmother and ignored it. Later on in the book, Frank discovers that he is the son of Mars, god of war, and he later discovers that he has the power to transform into any animal he encounters with.
