Kenneth Rexroth has said of Isaac Bashevis Singer's works that they seem to illustrate a specific view of the world. He described this theory on life saying that "life itself is haunted...We all live in the shadowy frivolous world of a spiritualistic séance... The point is that somewhere at the heart of reality something is running down." At first this seems to be just an eloquent masterpiece of a sentence but is it backed by truth? In my modest opinion I think that everything we live and every day we live is somewhat supernatural. It just doesn't seem that way because it's been happening for so long that it has all become natural to us. The way the world keeps turning and people keep moving. The way the race perpetuates itself and that the food supply isn't as bad as it technically could be. These things are crazy if you think about them and even though modern technology has discovered a lot of the "whys" it all still can't cease to amaze me. We know the laws of nature and of attraction and the theories of evolution and psychology. Yet we don't know why things always work out, not necessarily well, but nevertheless for every means there is an end. We don't know why bad things happen to good people or really why anything ever happens at all. We are indeed living in a "shadowy" world where we think we know what is going on but where we can't even attach a meaning to our existence. Too many of us think that we have got it all figured out only to realize in the final days that we had been living blind.…

In 2005, the Ying Yang Twins released “one of the greatest rap songs about sex”, titled “Wait (The Whisper Song)”. This song hit “No. 3 on Billboard's R&B/hip-hop singles chart, is up for best rap performance by a duo or a group” (Ollison 2006); however, was unabashedly misogynistic. This song received incredible praise for its brilliant use of “sexy whispering”. This song apparently needs special recognition for being “simultaneously ratchet and romantic. The words might be foul, but the Twins' presentation would make Barry White proud” (Gonzales 2013). We observe that the video and audio simultaneously work together to actively reinforce and perpetuate the preconceived stereotypes of black males in the media and women as victims or sexual objects. “Wait” re-secures hegemonic masculinity viewing males as having power-over and females as being submissive.…

All you have is a story and dream. That’s all anyone has. It’s all a matter of what you do with it. Do you follow God’s plan or do conform to what’s popular? Its difficult to find people that fully rely on Gods plan, especially in this generation’s music culture. Everyday we are singing songs in the the car on our way to work, like Jason Derulo’s song; “Every time you get undressed, I hear symphonies in my head,” and The Weeknd’s song; “I can’t feel my face when I’m with you” which is about cocaine. (For years, cocaine was used by doctors as a numbing agent and local anesthetic.) What kind of depth do lyrics like this have? One person in the music industry sets herself apart and has swept the planet with her unique light on the world, embracing…

The piece is in the key of E major and modulates from E to B to G major.…
