Astrology:
1) What is it?
a) Type of divination that involves the forecasting of earthly and human events through the observation and interpretation of the fixed stars, the Sun, the Moon, and the planets. Devotees believe that an understanding of the influence of the planets and stars on earthly affairs allows them to both predict and affect the destinies of individuals, groups, and nations. Though often regarded as a science throughout its history, astrology is widely considered today to be absolutely opposed to the findings and theories of modern Western.
2) When did people start using it?
a) The actual history of the start of astrology has been lost in time. But there are cave drawings dating back 25,000 years with moon and sun orientations. There are also early records from China dating back to 8 BC of where they started to predict solar eclipse. During the dark ages in some places the scholars were the only ones to study the stars and aligning of the Sun, Moon and planets, but exactly when society started using it to predict things to happen to individuals or groups and nations is unclear.

a) The point of Astrology back in the old days varied. Some used to predict the seasons while others used to predict an individuals predetermined path in life.

1) When was he working?
a) Reading through Jung’s history it seems like he was working from a very young age trying to understand people and what influenced their behavior. From trying to understand how his father was losing faith to his mother’s depression. For actual work he started in 1900 at the psychiatric hospital Burghölzli in Zurich, Switzerland. Between several different hospitals, teaching, and authoring countless publications he worked until his death after a short illness in 1961 at the age of 85.
