The Spanish Armada failed for a number of reasons here are some of the reasons. English ships had better artillery because Spanish cannons could only fire once an hour while the English cannons can fire every three minutes. Also the Spanish didn't have enough trained gunners to use the cannons so they had to use normal soilders to control the cannons. The English had smaller and faster ships so they can easily weave in and out of the Spanish ships. While the Spanish ships were big and slow so it is harder for them to weave in and out of the English ships. The English used eight fire ships so they could easily destroy the Spanish ships. But the Spanish ships got away to fast so the fire ships didn't destroy any Spanish ships. There were foot soilders on the fire ships and when they lit the ships alight each soilder would jump into a life boat. The Spanish didn't collect their army from the Netherlands. Because they had to keep going as the English was following them and the english blocked of a part of the ocean so the Spanish couldn't turn back they had to keep on going. During the storm Sixty Five ships were destroyed and Twenty Thousand people were dead. Also when the bad weather came the Spanish were near Scotland. I think the bad weather is the most important because more Spanish ships got destroyed so that gave an advantage to the English. Also I think the two middle ones are English ships have better artillery and English have smaller but faster ships. And I think the bottom two are the Spanish didn't collect their army in the Netherlands and the English used eight fire ships.
