Was Magellan Worth Defending
Was Magellan worth defending?

Was Magellan worth Defending? There are many reasons why he is not worth defending, and many reasons he was worth defending. Many people think he was not worth defending. But in my own opinion I think he was worth is. But don't get me wrong i have some reasons why he is not worth defending. So I have two ways I could argue this. One reason he is not worth it he was very harsh to his crew. But one reason he is worth is is because he was a very smart man. One way you could discribe Magellan is entillanrnt. but another way you could describe him is cruel. Another reason he was worth is because he was just trying to deliver spices. At that point he was completely innocent But on the other hand he did lead his crew to their death. So at that point he was not worth defending. Because he left with 270 men and came back with 18 but, Magellan was not one of the 18. So he was not worth defending right now. Another way someone could argue that he was not worth defending is that he made his crew do all the work. Some captions are like that but they probably did a lot more work than he did. Then again he was one of the people who want to sell spices.
With that at least some of the spices got to where they were supposed to. So that is one big reason why he is worth defending. But still someone could argue both ways. Another thing he did was help discover the world. And that is one huge reason why he is worth defending. He also did make a bunch of towns change religions, and if they refused he threatened them. People should have the choice of religion, so a lot of people would not defend him because of that. He also made his crew eat old biscuits, eat rats, and drink yellow water. When he did that he probably got his crew really sick.
But after all that he is kinda worth defending. Was Magellan worth defending? After all the stuff that he did to his crew. But he did have some good in

Christopher Columbus is a man who is known in society simultaneously as a hero and a villain of his time. What if the world had to pick only one, what would it be? Many new studies and scholars believe that Columbus was the villain of his story not a hero as past information would lead us to believe. Past documents were all written from Europe’s point of view, this lead to extremely biased documents because Europe was the side to profit unlike the Native Americans. Columbus was the antagonist of the new world due to how he forced the natives into slavery, he raped and robbed the natives he found, and how he slaughtered the natives if they could not collect enough gold.…

Magellan was a mighty explorer because he converted a lot of people to Christianity and he was the first to discover very important places. When Ferdinand stopped in the Philippines on the island of Cebu, he tried to teach people about his religion, Christianity. People want to spread their religion and make more people a believer of what they believe is the one and only true religion. William Manchester writes in “A World Lit Only By Fire”, that, “by the end of the following week virtually every inhabitant of Cebu- a total of twenty-two hundred, according to one of the flota’s crew- had chosen Christ.” To convert thousands of people in just a few weeks to a totally new religion is a tough job, but Magellan was determined. He was also the first to discover many new places. He was the first to discover the tip of South America and sail around it. The passage he sailed through is now called the Straight of Magellan after him. He and his crew were also the first to sail across the Pacific Ocean. He also did it on limited food supplies. Magellan had many positive moments on the trip but he also had a few flaws.…

Christopher Columbus made a total of four voyages in the span of twelve years, from 1492 to 1504. His voyage was not an easy one. He asked the king and queen several times for their finances to make the trip. Christopher Columbus eventually convinced them to allow him and his crew to go because he told them that he would discover a "back door" route to the riches of Asia, India and the "spice islands" - by sailing west across the Atlantic Ocean instead of east. Christopher Columbus bought King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella gold, parrots, and spices to prove that he had actually found land. He also brought back with him the natives. While sailing back to Spain hundreds of natives died on Columbus ' three ships, the Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria. The king and queen granted him more money for his next voyage.…
