YEAR 8 ASSESSMENT:

Why did the Spanish Armada Fail?

How do you write a good history essay?

A write a good history essay you need to have two things on the menu:

A good history essay will be set up like a hamburger:

Each paragraph should be like a PEA:

Point: - Each paragraph should start off with a point:
e.g. The Spanish Armada failed because it was hampered by the weather.

Evidence: - You should then have some evidence to support you point.
e.g. “Instead they sailed round the north of Scotland where storms wreaked most of them.”

Analysis: - You then link your point back to the question you are answering.
e.g. The weather made the force weaker, with only 25 ships making it back to Spain. This made the Armada a failure because they returned with completing their plan to invade England and make it Catholic again.
