• Must contain knowledge regarding the field of special education, behavior interventions, performance standards, and moderate severe programs.

The interview will consist of a panel of professionals embedded within the field of special education and employees of San Bernardino City Unified School District (SBCUSD). The structured interview will consist of five open-ended questions seeking to illuminate knowledge of special education, efficient curricula, leadership skills, effective communication skills, management, and critical thinking abilities. The following questions will be utilized:
1. Describe your expertise in relation to the field of special education and how your experiences make you an excellent candidate for the position?
2. What types of professional development opportunities would you generate and why?
3. The program specialist position requires the communication amongst special education teachers, administrators, school psychologists, and parents. How would you establish and facilitate effective and open lines of communication between key stakeholders?
4. What are the steps required to develop and implement effective special education curriculum that seeks to enhance the developmental outcomes for students with moderate to severe disabilities at both the elementary and secondary
