The splitting tests are well known indirect tests, were conducted as per IS 5816:1999 and used in the concrete tensile strength determination sometimes called split tensile strength of concrete. The size of cylinder is 300mm length with 150mm diameter or 200mm with 100mm diameter. The specimen were kept in water for curing for 3 days, 7 days and 21 days and on test day remove and allow the surface to dry. The test is performed out by placing a cylindrical specimen horizontally between the loading surfaces of a compression testing machine and the load is applied until failure of the cylinder along the vertical diameter occurs, record the maximum load applied to the specimen and note the appearance of the concrete for any …show more content…
3.2 Flexural strength
This is the capacity of a beam or slab to withstand failure in bending. It is measured by loading unreinforced 100 x 100 mm concrete beams with a 500mm span. The flexural strength is expressed as “Modulus of Rupture” (MR) in MPa and is about 12 to 20% of compressive strength. Beam specimens properly made in the field, consolidate by vibration in accordance with CSA A23.23C and tap sides to release bubbles. After 24 hours immersed in water for curing and cured in a standard manner, and tested while wet because flexural tests are extremely sensitive to specimen preparation, handling, and curing procedure.
Standard deviation for projects with good control range from about 0.30.5 MPa. Values over 0.7 MPa indicate testing problems, and there is a high likelihood that testing problems, or moisture differences within a beam, will cause low strength.

The exterior chamber is constructed from high grade Mild steel with powder coated finish to keeps the units safe from rust and normal scratches while the internal chamber is produced from high grade corrosion resistant stainless steel. The Shelves used to keep objects in the units in each B.O.D, the number of these shelves may differ from model to model or size of the unit, produce from aluminum sheets or stainless steel with polished layer. Normally 2 to 5 shelves are supplied with these units as per size and capacity. For effective cooling one uses ISI marked CFC free refrigerant is the best and BOD incubators doors always in Glass or solid doors. For safety they are equipped with various safeties protection devices like temper proof controls, over current protections and leakage breaker. The temperature ranges from 0°C to 60°C with temperature accuracy of + / - 0.1°C and temperature uniformity of + / -
