Spread Of Islam Persuasive Speech
Hey Halder, I see that you are extremely worried about Robert Spencer coming to our school on May 1st and I am just as concerned about his ideas spreading around UB as well as the United States as a whole. As UB students and Americans we should protest his ideas and point to the repercussions that his ideas may have on the religion of Islam and as well as well-meaning Islamic people across the United States. However, I see where your form and methods of protest may go which may include a gathering outside of the event or various methods to cancel the event, which I wholeheartedly sympathize with. This will be a lengthy message so I hope you will give me the opportunity to give you these ideas that have been laying in my heart since the announcement …show more content…
Milo went on a national tour spreading his hateful ideas and, like what will happen on May 1st, will be subject to a passionate protest by those of the respective college community. However Milo, just like Robert Spencer, continued to spread his ideas across America misrepresenting the people of Islam. A common reason that he was able to do this is due to the fact that the opposing community on the respective campus only protested outside of the event and refused to participate in the Q&A sessions that he provided. It turned his events into a circle jerk of hateful ideas driven by a complete lack of understanding for the religion of Islam. Unfortunately, I predict the same result will happening on May 1st, with Robert Spencer spreading his hateful and xenophobic ideas without anyone who is knowledgeable and much more understanding of the religion of Islam (well more than I will ever get to considering I'm a Christian) rebutting his ideas. I want to pass this idea on to you because I will not let my college community become a breathing ground for the birth of hateful ideologies that target a large group of people around the world that I truly believe are the opposite of what people like Robert Spencer and Milo Yiannopoulos spew throughout

Military conquest was one of the primary reasons why Islam spread so quickly. The Document C “Spread of Islam” map shows that between 622 and 750, the Islamic world expanded to Saragossa in the north and as far as Kabul to the east. On the map, there are arrows traveling in many directions. These arrows represent military campaigns. It seems that wherever these arrows go, the land is almost always converted into Islamic territory, therefore, the army’s operations prove to be successful. The significant amount of land claimed shows that the Islamic troops are a force to be reckoned with. According to the Document F al-Baladhuri excerpt, “Hereclius gathered [a] large Byzantine army … numbering about 200,000...By Allah’s help, some 70,000 of them…

This article talked about how the students of UC Berkeley were protesting against a speech being given at their school, and how the sponsors of this group were forced to pay $15,000 in security fees. Then on top of that fee the school paid an additional $600,000 to create cemented barriers and have armed forces on campus during the meeting. Personally I feel these precautions were unnecessary however due to the way students were reacting it had to be done. Another subject brought up in the article was the fact that 44 percent of students said that the First Amendment does not protect "hate speech", 51 percent said that they would be in favor of students speaking out against a speaker "known for making offensive and hurtful statements" and 19 percent of students said the use of violence against controversial speakers is acceptable. This information frustrates me because freedom of speech is black and white, personal opinions shouldn’t interfere with our rights.…

Islam spread so successfully because the Byzantine and Persian empires were weak and tired, so this made it easier for Muslims to conquer them. From Arabia, Islam spread northwards towards Persia and Baghdad in 640AD. In the east they overpowered Samarkand in 676AD and the Borders of India in 707AD. Towards the west Islam expanded into Morocco and Spain in 708AD.…

Subsequently, this social unrest has led to increased protests, rise in hate-related crimes and formation of the Black Lives Matter movement. It is quite transparent the current divide taking place in the US, and Trump vilifying Muslims only exacerbates these wounds. The presidency brings along the power to influence many citizens around the globe, as citizens and countries look to the US president to help guide the future of their nation. Trump instigating stern immigration policies and anti-Islamic rhetoric further gives people ammunition to alienate Muslims, many of whom are fellow Americans. According to the FBI, there has been a 67% surge in Muslim hate crimes since Trump’s campaign. Trump’s inauguration speech was saturated with nationalistic overtone, but he needs to understand that immigration and diversity is what the US was built upon, and that it is imperative to feeding creativity and galvanizing a diverse set of…

Two hours on that Tuesday morning are having enormous ripple effects. What if we called this the next level of diversity awareness training? How are we debriefing it? We need to continue. It is a case study for sensitivity training, for strategic planning, for risk assessment, knowledge management, religious understanding. I can't think of an activity that is not affected. Islam started to spread when Prophet Muhammad received his first revelation at forty years of age when Angel Gabriel gave him the message from god. Prophet Muhammad first started preaching about Islam to his wife and closets friends in secret for three years. Later he started preaching openly in Mecca ten years and in Medina for ten years. Islam only really started spreading when Prophet Muhammad died. It was the four caliphs that were really determined to spread Islam around the world.…

From the 5th C.E. century to the year 1325, the spread of Islam occurred in the trans- Saharan area in Africa. The spread of Islam impacted many of these societies, affecting the rule of kings, changing the daily lives of many people, and changing the religions. However, these changes did not transpire by themselves. The spread of Islam was possible because of the trade and merchants in the Sahara, the many kings and their servicemen, and the journey to Mecca made by Mansa Musa.…

Elijah Muhammad, Malcolm X, and Louis Farrakhan were once Christian, but then turned to Islam latter on in life.
