St. Joseph Research Paper

I chose my Saint name to be St. Joseph. St. Joseph was the Earthly Father of Jesus Christ, and helped guide him until his death. He died before Jesus performed anything major that caught anyone’s attention. But it was a happy death; he died in the presence of his adopted son, Jesus, and his beloved wife, Mary. His feast day is on March 19th. To me, I am honoring St. Joseph by picking him as my saint name. Growing up, I always felt like Mary had the spotlight most of the time, even when Joseph was alive. I chose him because I know I will probably become a father someday. It might be in the church, or to my future children, but I do not know which one. Although Joseph was only the foster father of our savior, he still accepted the challenge, and helped guide Jesus to his future. Mary and Joseph tackled one of their biggest challenges right when Jesus was born. They had to keep him hidden from Herod, and after that, they could not tell anyone his age and birthdate, otherwise they would connect the dots and alert Herod that they found who he wanted to be dead. When Joseph face challenges, he did not give up. He fought so hard, that when it came to be his time to die, Joseph died honorably.
Joseph is the patron saint of happy deaths. St. Joseph became the patron saint of this because he perhaps died the most happiest way possible. Joseph died in the presence of Jesus, his adopted son whom he loved so much, and Mary, his beloved wife. When I die, I want to die knowing that I made the most of my life. To me this means serving God, my family, and anyone in need of it the best I could. Then, I, too, can die happily like Joseph did. St. Joseph was also declared the patron saint of the Catholic Church by Pope Pius IX. I may not be the patron of the Roman Catholic Church, but I do want to play my part in making it function and spread the word of God, so I alter serve. So when I watch over a small section of our church, I am being like my model, St.
