One of the most recognizable and the biggest churches in Poland. It was built in 14th century in the Gothic style has two towers. The bigger one is 82meters high and the smaller is 69 meter. Inside the church visitors can admire the famous alter made by Wit Stwosz. This is the biggest gothic alter in Europe which measure 11 x 13 meters.
Main Market Square
Main Market Square in Cracow is perfectly square (200 x 200 meters). This is the crossroads of 11 streets. In the past, this was King's route to the castle on Wawel's Hill. Sukiennice
The major place of trade in Europe in 15th century. Initially built of the wooden walls in the center of Cracow;s Main Market Square. King Kazimierz Wielki donated to the city brick building which unfortunately burned down. The building that we can see today was rebuilt in 1559 by masters of Renessaince style. Gallery of Polish painting and sculptureof 19th century is placed on the first floor. There is also an entrance to the Market Square underground in Sukiennice. Worth to know about Cloth Hall is that there is still working gas lightening.
Town Hall Tower
The Town Hall was built in 1300 in the center of Cracow. The building was pulled down in 1820, but the tower has remained untill now. This was one of the oldest seats of the town authorities in Middle Ages. The building around the tower consisted of 3 floors and measured 30 x 10 meter.
