In 1971, Starbucks opens first store in Seattle’s Pike Place Market.
In 1982,Howard Schultz joined Starbucks as the director of retail operations and marketing. Starbucks begins providing coffee to fine restaurants and espresso bars.
In 1984, the first Starbucks® Caffè Latte, the coffee house, was founded in Seattle.
In 1987,Howard Schultz purchased the company and Starbucks began to sell brew coffee and espresso beverages.
In 1991, Starbucks became America's first private enterprise to provide part-time employees with stock options.
In 1992, Starbucks completed IPO on NASDAQ ,which marked the new beginning of development.

In Jan, 1991, Starbucks opened the first store in Beijing, which represented that Starbucks have entered China market.

At first, Starbucks only sell coffee beans. Until 1987, when Howard Schultz bought it and re-organized it, Starbucks began to jump out of its original frame and started to sell brewed coffee and espresso beverages.
