I believe that true love is all that one needs in life, but being true to yourself is way more important and that can fit in any scenarios and here's one. Leo should accept stargirl the way she is because her opinion should only matter and if he really loves her he should not try and change her and stay with her.
Leo and Stargirl “Loved” each other. I know that Leo and Stargirl loved each other because in chapter 24 the author writes [Painted on the sheet in broad red brush strokes was a valentine heart enclosing the words: Stargirl Loves Leo. My first impulse was to drag the teacher to the window and say, “Look, she loves me.”] (129). This quote means that she was showing her affection to Leo and Leo responded
very excited to see the valentine “gift”. By the reaction the first came out of Leo I would say that he loved her and since she had the courage to put up that poster she must really love him.
In the end everything changed for the better with her there. Everything changed for the better because in chapter 34 “More Than Stars” I read “At every game, when the opposing team scores its first basket a small group of Electrons fans jump to their feet and cheer.” (185). As far as I know, this never happened at Mica High until Stargirl showed up. The Electron fans are showing good sportsmanship and kindness to the opposing team by cheering for them as Stargirl did Instead of being rude and a bad sport.
The other side thinks Stargirl should fit in to be like the others. I think that she should not change because it’s better to be yourself and if what she was doing was to make people happy and was not harming anyone and her intentions were good than she should not change. This is why I think Leo should accept Stargirl the way she is.
